Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong-Quest
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong-Quest is a 1995 platformer developed by Rare for the SNES, the sequel to Donkey Kong Country. Donkey Kong has been kidnapped by Kaptain K. Rool, and Diddy Kong — joined by Dixie Kong — must rescue him on Crocodile Isle. The game is set on Crocodile Isle across eight main worlds (plus a hidden Lost World), totaling 52 levels.

This guide documents the game's main progression and structure; some specific details are still being verified and are noted where relevant.
Controls
Diddy Kong retains his cartwheel attack, jumps relatively high, holds barrels defensively in front of his body, and climbs ropes/vines slightly faster than Dixie. Dixie Kong's signature move is the Helicopter Spin, performed by spinning her ponytail to slow her descent and glide/float in midair; she holds objects overhead (leaving her open to side attacks) and swims at the same speed as Diddy underwater. When both Kongs are active, one can throw the other straight upward — used to reach high items or hit airborne enemies.
Regions / Worlds
Main worlds and their bosses: Gangplank Galleon (Krow), Crocodile Cauldron (Kleever) — Crocodile Cauldron also contains the Red-Hot Ride level, Krem Quay (Kudgel), Krazy Kremland (King Zing), Gloomy Gulch (Kreepy Krow), and K. Rool's Keep. Clearing the six main worlds opens the Flying Krock, the game's normal (non-hidden) final progression area, where Kaptain K. Rool is fought at K. Rool Duel. A separate, hidden Lost World — unlocked by spending Kremkoins at Klubba's Kiosk — contains additional levels including Fiery Furnace and Krocodile Kore. Nine animal buddies appear across levels: Rambi (rhino; breaks walls with Supercharge), Enguarde (swordfish; Superstab penetrates barriers), Squawks (flight; shoots pellets), Rattly (high jumps; Superjump), Clapper (cools lava/freezes water for safe passage), Squitter (web platforms; ranged attacks), Glimmer (lights dark underwater areas), and a purple Squawks variant (parachute descent only, no active flight).
Progression / Required Objectives
Kremkoins, earned by completing Bonus Areas, function as a currency — 15 Kremkoins unlock each subsequent Lost World level at Klubba's Kiosk. DK Coins (referred to in some sources as Cranky Kong's video-game-hero coins) are hidden collectibles (one per level, 40 total) that feed into a post-game ranking system from Cranky Kong, referencing other Nintendo characters (Mario, Yoshi, Link) as a comparison metric.
Bosses
Krow — Gangplank Galleon. Kleever — Crocodile Cauldron. Kudgel — Krem Quay. King Zing — Krazy Kremland. Kreepy Krow — Gloomy Gulch. Kaptain K. Rool is fought at K. Rool Duel in the Flying Krock, the game's normal final progression area — not part of the hidden Lost World.
Completion Path
- Clear Gangplank Galleon, Crocodile Cauldron, Krem Quay, Krazy Kremland, Gloomy Gulch, and K. Rool's Keep in sequence, defeating each world's boss.
- Proceed to the Flying Krock — the game's normal, non-hidden final progression area — and defeat Kaptain K. Rool at K. Rool Duel to complete the main story.
- Optionally, spend Kremkoins collected from Bonus Areas at Klubba's Kiosk to unlock the hidden Lost World, which contains additional levels including Fiery Furnace and Krocodile Kore.
Still confirming
- The precise level-count breakdown per individual world (summing to the stated 52 total) was not itemized world-by-world in this pass.
