Spanky's Quest
Spanky's Quest is an action-puzzle game for SNES starring Spanky, a monkey, and was also released on Game Boy. In the SNES version's narrative, Spanky is trapped in a tower while attempting a picnic, and must contend with the witch Morticia and her fruit-themed minions.

This is a systems/mechanics guide rather than a linear walkthrough — a fixed step-by-step route isn't the useful format for a action-puzzle title.
Controls / Core Mechanic
Spanky attacks by throwing a small purple bubble, which he can bounce on his head; each bounce grows the bubble and changes its color. The bubble itself only stuns enemies on contact — it must be "activated"/popped to release one of several sports-ball-type projectiles, with the projectile type and power tied to how many times the bubble was bounced before release (general progression: fewer bounces produce a weaker, more targeted ball such as a baseball; more bounces produce increasingly powerful area-effect balls, with the largest producing a multi-target barrage such as basketballs).
Levels / Structure
The game has five worlds, each containing ten levels. SNES version: levels are cleared by collecting enough keys to unlock the exit door; defeating every enemy in a room is optional. Game Boy version (for contrast, not the subject of this file): levels are cleared by eliminating all enemies in the room instead.
Progression / Required Objectives
After clearing a world's ten levels, the player faces that world's boss. After all five world bosses are defeated, the player faces Morticia (the witch) in a final battle, which is preceded by refighting all previous bosses in sequence.
Bosses
Enemies are primarily living-fruit characters (green apples, red apples, lemons, oranges, melons, grapes, peaches, pineapples, watermelon) themed to Morticia's minions. Morticia is the final boss.
Trouble Spots
A time limit exists per room with no on-screen display; when time expires, an invincible crow named Morty appears and chases the player, costing a life on contact. Because the timer is invisible, new players are likely to lose lives to Morty's sudden appearance without warning — this is a structurally built-in trouble spot rather than an inferred one, though the exact time-limit duration per room was not confirmed.
Still confirming
- Exact time-limit duration before Morty appears.
- Names of the five individual world bosses.
- Precise bounce-count-to-ball-type mapping (sources gave slightly different orderings of ball type by bounce count, so the exact 1:1 mapping is not confirmed with full confidence).
