GUIDE SNES compilation

Super Mario All-Stars

Super Mario All-Stars (1993) is a compilation cartridge bundling 16-bit remakes of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), and Super Mario Bros. 3, built on Super Mario World's engine with a save feature and various bug fixes. This is a different product from 2020's Super Mario 3D All-Stars on Switch (Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy) — same branding, no shared content. This compilation was The Lost Levels' first release outside Japan; it never got a Western NES release because Nintendo judged it too difficult for the time.

Availability: Nintendo Switch Online — Super Nintendo Entertainment System app (Nintendo Classics)

PixelQuest already has full walkthrough coverage for the NES originals of all four included games — this page covers what changed in the 16-bit remasters instead of duplicating that coverage under a different game ID.

What's Actually New Here

Rather than re-walking all four included games a second time (PixelQuest already covers the NES originals in full), this page documents what changed in the All-Stars remakes: physics tweaks, bug fixes, graphics/UI updates, and the save system — since a player picking up this specific compilation needs to know how it differs from the NES versions. No core boss mechanics were found to differ across the four remakes; the changes are fixes and visual updates.
